Viva Las Vegas

About now all the Oregon fans have probably finished crying over their lose to BYU. Many of them are probably wondering to themselves why such a wonderful school like BYU could win them. Well their are certain factors that I am sure they haven't seen. So just in case any Oregon fans read my blog I will set these factors straight for them. The first factor is that of course BYU was going to win, they are just the better school, and better team. But know I will get into the more techniqual factors. As I was at the game, and watch the few plays that Oregon made I realized that the only person who really moved the team forward was the Quarterback. Besides all the times that he was sacked it seems he was always running forward with the ball giving them their few first downs. I have only been alive for sixteen years, but in these years one thing that I have learned is that football is a team sport not a one man show. Another thing that I am sure affected the Oregon players was their lack of fans. The stadium was practically filled with all BYU fans. But we can't blame the lack of Oregan fans on their lose. While Oregon played a one man game, BYU had many outstanding players. Some of these players include John Beck, Johny Harline, Tonga, Matt Alan(even though he dropped a couple of balls in the end he pulled through), and my personal favorite Curtis Brown. I could go on all night talking about how amazing BYU is but Christmas eve is tomorrow, and I have no desire to do any more school work until after Christmas. Wait one more thing how could anyone with a duck as a mascot win anything.

Ipods

Everywhere I go I see people walking around with ipod earphones in their ears. It seems like for some people they never come out like they are glued in there. I think it is crazy when I see kids at school walking around with them between classes. It doesn't even take that long to get from class to class, and they probably don't even get to listen to a full song. Plus we go to school to learn not to listen to music. So why have ipods become so popular in the school setting? One reason I believe that ipods are seen in high school is people don't like silence or to be alone. When you listen to music you have constant noise in your head, and when you walking down the hallway by yourself you don't feel as lonely. Also some kids don't want to talk to people so they put their earphones in and tune out the rest of the world. The number one reason though people listen to their ipods is to look cool. It has become such a popular trend, that when people listen to their ipods they think that they are so wonderful. I on the other hand think it is stupid. I have an ipod but you don't see me walking around the hall with it. There is no need. All they do is distract and create excuses for student to shut out the world, and all that is going on around them. I think ipods are a great invention, and I absolutely love mine. I just don't think they are appropriate for school.

Monday

Every Sunday night I go to bed dreading the day that is soon to come. I am almost sure that it is not just me who dreads Mondays. What makes Monday such a dreadful day to many people? The first thing that comes to my mind is that Monday means that we have to get on with life, and become responsible people again. Because over the weekends it is the time to relax and have fun. But Monday means all that has to stop and you have to wait five more days to relax. I don't think Mondays would be half as bad if there wasn't school or work. It is nice to have Mondays where there is no school, and it is just another weekend day (if that makes sense). I don't dread those days at all. It is only the days I have to go and do something important, and somewhat boring. Even as I type this I am becoming depressed because I know tomorrow is Monday, and I will actually have to get out of bed and do something with my life. (I guess that can be a good thing) Mondays are dreaded because it forces people to have come back to reality and face the challenges that a new day brings

Bed Time

As I get older I don't seem to have the same bedtime as when I was younger. Actually I don't have a bed time at all. The decision to go to bed is totally up to me. When we are younger why do our parents give us bedtimes? Most kids when they are really young fall asleep anyways. I think that bedtimes are given in order to get the children out of the way so the parents have some peaceful time. Really, if there kids don't have school why do they need to be to bed around eight or nine. The later you but them to bed the later they get up. This sounds a lot better to me. I think that older kids as well as younger kids should have a bed time. It is shown that teenagers who get more sleep do better in school. So all students should have a required bedtime, so they are able to perform at their top level. However, this is not possible for some students due to homework, and work. I think it would be better for all of society to have a bedtime. This would decrease car accidents due to drowsiness, and people would have more energy throughout the day. Bedtime is good for everyone not just little kids. Speaking of bed times, it is way past mine. Good Night!
